Banner Health Systems
Banner Health has 24 hospitals, six long-term care centers, and an array of other services, including family clinics, home care services and home medical equipment services, in eight western states — Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Nevada, and Wyoming. The portfolio of assets includes approximately 11,000 asset line items that produce approximately 90,000 maintenance transactions per year.
In 2002, the Facilities Maintenance Department was charged with the purchase and implementation of a solution that would provide the following benefits to Banner Health:
- One centrally located resource for the asset management and maintenance records
- Utilization of WebTMA’s Biomed Module to track more than 25,000 pieces of equipment organization wide
- An efficient method of entering, storing, and updating of property records
- The means to monitor, accurately analyze, and report on business delivery requirements for all property and property-related assets
After a long and extensive search for a solution, Banner Health System selected WebTMA’s Enterprise solution along with a variety of optional modules and interfaces.
TMA actively worked with Banner Health personnel during the implementation of the project to ensure the results were clearly understood and useful to Banner Health. The effectiveness of the project was closely linked to the TMA staff’s ability to share their knowledge and expertise with Banner Personnel.
TMA has greatly assisted Banner Health related to their strategy of Facility Maintenance and Clinical Engineering. The system has improved the availability and quality of information at all levels.
Training of Banner Health personnel was crucial in allowing maximum utilization of the WebTMA solution. During the implementation, TMA staff trained the Banner Health team in a manner that set standards and improved workflow processes.
Banner Health personnel had a wide scope of knowledge, ranging from novice computer users to dedicated database administrators. TMA tailored the training tracks to address the appropriate needs of each group. TMA developed a series of training services that allowed Banner Health to implement the WebTMA solution in an efficient and effective manner, allowing them to obtain the fastest return on investment possible.
TMA met Banner Health’s goals and objectives for the implementation and continues to meet their ongoing goals and objectives through support of the system.
