TULSA, OK, December 2, 2020 – Lamar University, located in southeast Texas, recently completed their implementation of WebTMA for their Facilities Department. Lamar, which replaced Dude Solutions, will utilize WebTMA across their campus to manage their work order and preventive maintenance programs, gain better control of equipment and assets, and make more informed decisions regarding maintenance and facility operations.
The new system is viewed as an integrated software solution that will enhance their technician’s productivity by allowing their staff to more effectively manage their work orders and other campus maintenance data. Dustin Taylor, President of TMA Systems, stated, “We’re very pleased to have Lamar University as a new client. We believe the selection of WebTMA came down to the high value the application offers and its ability to handle the needs of their Facilities Department. About Lamar University
Lamar University started on September 17, 1923, as South Park Junior College, operating on the unused third floor of the new South Park High School. South Park Junior College became the first college in Texas to receive Texas Department of Education approval during the first year of operation and became fully accredited in 1925. In 1932, the college administration, recognizing that the junior college was serving the region rather than just the community, renamed it Lamar College. It was named for Mirabeau B. Lamar, the second president of the Republic of Texas, who arranged to set aside land in counties for public schools.
Home to more than 15,000 students, Lamar University is among the fastest-growing Texas colleges and universities. Lamar is a member of The Texas State University System, which is the first higher education system of Texas and maintains the lowest average tuition and fee structure of any university system in Texas. Lamar University is nationally recognized for its quality curriculum program that includes Bachelors, Masters, and Doctoral degrees. Also, Lamar is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and is one of 29 public universities recognized as a Doctoral/Research University by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
